I was having lunch with a friend in downtown Columbus, Ohio today, outside, right before a big storm blew in. We were going to discuss working with a band together while eating at Northstar Cafe in the Short North. Really excellent food there and I would highly recommend for all types of eaters. It’s delicious.
He arrived and we began discussing work with the band. Before you knew it, almost 2 hours had gone by, we had our take away checklists and deliverables assigned, and ended our meeting.
We had forgotten to order lunch! LOL!

We went inside and ordered to go (Thai Wrap please with peanut sauce – yum!) and continued talking about Agile Development methodologies, Lean manufacturing and how those concepts related to managing a band (it really does).
Later on, after we had left, he forwarded an article that not only explained what happened at lunch, but also why even though I’m putting in a bunch of hours over the course of a week, I’m not really that tired.
Basically, when you are doing something you love and feel passionate about, it’s not really going to feel like work. Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s a ton of work that goes into music, music business, but it doesn’t FEEL like work. I could totally relate to this concept. It’s called a “Weightless Startup” and here’s a link to the article
“IF you believe in what you are doing, it won’t feel like work” … Kevin Rose.
Many people espouse this same concept, Gary Vaynerchuk is one of those who I really can relate to and really like his message.
Basically, it all comes down to, find what gives you that spark, and then just go do it!!!
