Well, that caught up with me …

I’m at home on a workday because I just didn’t get enough sleep last night, feel a cold or something catching up to me …  It’s been a busy few days on top of all that.

Monday . . .back from festival in Pennsylvania –

Tuesday … Coordinating a bunch of last minutes details for interview for a band

Wednesday … Interview with band, work, evening commitments, band meeting until late, tidying up and getting late night assets off to media.

Thursday . . You ain’t getting out of bed, Just a Dude!

Normally I can burn the candle at both ends no problem, but I think I caught a cold bug or something in the car ride, or out meeting people that caught up with me.  Just needed some sleep.

Which reminds me. . .you gotta take care of yourself in this business or any business.  Vitamins, working out, eating right, it all matters.  I don’t honestly know how the artists on tour do it. Maybe we’ll find out soon.

Here are some lessons learned however.  Reminder that post about always following up? Well, it happened again!!!  This time was a little wrinkle however.  I was communicating with a venue with a gmail account.  I then switched over to <band domain> account.  A different topic was being discussed and we are trying to compartmentalize communications.  Well, I wasn’t getting a response and assumed they weren’t interested in the proposal.  As the date of the proposal came nearer, I got a little more desparate to figure out why the heck they wouldn’t want press at their venue.  I even talked about it in this post.

Well, it turns out no one ever received my message from the band domain email account!!!  Even though other people have been receiving them. WHAT. THE. HECK!!!

Must be something with the domain name and an email filter or something.  I have a tech background, so I can only imagine it’s something like that.

Once I switched over to a good communication, “Of course we’d love to help you.”

<sigh>

I guess the good news, we were able to hold an interview at the venue for the band, it all went well, and everyone is happy.  The interview will air next Tuesday, on @NBC4i #NBCColumbus right before the band’s first headlining show.

Phew – now that wasn’t so hard after all, was it?

🙂

Have a  great day everyone!!
